Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a 15-year-old left-handed batter, has garnered the admiration of Rajasthan Royals wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel in the wake of his explosive performance in the 2026 Under-19 World Cup final. In an effort to secure India’s victory in the tournament, Sooryavanshi, who was born on March 27, 2011, scored 175 runs off 80 deliveries against England.
Dhruv Jurel reflected on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi remarkable rise and the impact the teenager is having on Indian cricket during an interview with Aakash Chopra on his podcasts. The India player emphasised that it is impossible to draw direct comparisons between himself and the young sensation, drawing attention to the exceptional nature of Sooryavanshi’s performances.
The influence that Sooryavanshi is having on the Indian dressing room and the broader cricket landscape is underscored by Dhruv Jurel comments.
The teenager’s aggressive approach in the Powerplay has established a model for other batters, as Jurel has observed that Sooryavanshi’s performances instill confidence in the batting unit. Sooryavanshi, a left-handed top-order batsman and occasional slow left-arm orthodox bowler, has already established a substantial presence at the international level, despite his young age.
