In Women’s T20 Internationals, Shafali Verma became the Indian hitter with the most sixes on September 20, 2026. She made history in this way. She reached the big goal during India’s knockout match at the Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin against Bangladesh in the Asian Games 2026.
Shafali Verma has scored 104 sixes in WT20Is, three more than Smriti Mandhana, who now has 100. The record puts Shafali Verma fourth on the all-time WT20I sixes list for all nations. This is an amazing accomplishment for a batter who has consistently pushed the limits of how aggressive women can be in international cricket.
India made a huge score of 195/4 in 20 overs, giving the other team a very hard target to reach. The team was led by Shafali Verma, who scored an amazing 100 runs off of just 49 balls, hitting three fours and nine sixes at a strike rate of 204.08. During the whole game, India scored an impressive 9.75 runs per over.
Where does Shafali Verma stand on the list of everyone who has hit a WT20I six?
Shafali Verma is the fourth best batter in the history of women’s T20 Internationals, with 104 sixes. Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu is right above her on the list with 120 sixes. This gives Verma a clear goal to work toward as her career goes on.
With 134 sixes each, Sophie Devine of New Zealand and Deandra Dottin of the West Indies are tied for first place. Devine and Dottin have both had long and successful careers in other countries. The fact that they both made it to the top of the list shows how elite the company is that Verma is now in. With 104 points, Verma is firmly in the top five of all-time, and her age and the way her career has been going, she should be able to close the gap to Athapaththu in the coming years.
In Shafali Verma’s WT20I career, how does this important event fit in?
Since her first international game, Verma has been one of the most aggressive openers in women’s cricket. One thing that has made her batting stand out in all conditions and against all kinds of bowlers is her ability to regularly hit the boundary. The 104–6 score shows not only how talented she is, but also how many attacking innings she has played in WT20Is, match after match and tournament after tournament.

One of the most successful and well-known run scorers in women’s T20 cricket is Mandhana, who now ranks second in India with 100 sixes. Verma’s performance is a big deal for Indian women’s cricket statistics because it shows how many powerful hitters the country has created at the top of the order. Both of these players have been very important to India’s batting in this format, and their total of 204 sixes shows how aggressively India has been playing in this shorter version of the women’s game.
