Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been the delight of the cricketing world since he annihilated the world’s best bowlers in IPL 2026. The teenager stunned the globe by becoming the youngest Indian debutant. However, a former cricketer has placed him on the same level as Don Bradman.
The 15-year-old Sooryavanshi made his international debut in England, but his breakthrough came during the IND vs ZIM T20Is, where he was named Player of the Series. He finished the series with 151 runs over three innings, including two half-centuries.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has received numerous accolades since his debut and is frequently likened to the top batters in the game due to his exceptional talent and prowess.
Former Indian hitter Robin Uthappa has taken the praise a step further, comparing the prodigal batter to Sir Donald Bradman, who boasts an unrivalled Test average of 99.94.
Notably, Bradman was only bowled LBW (leg before wicket) four times in his whole career. Uthappa has compared the youngster to the best batter on that specific metric.
Vaibhav has only been dismissed LBW once in his IPL and international career.

The Chronicles of Don Bradman
Don Bradman is widely considered as the greatest batter in history. Although he has played cricket in two countries, Australia and England, and against four different teams (India, West Indies, South Africa, and England), he is regarded as the most difficult batter to bowl against.
In his Test career, he played 52 matches and scored 6996 runs at an incredible average, which could have been triple digits if Bradman hadn’t gone for a duck in his final innings.
The Don was so unique that England had to design bodyline bowling, which involved attacking the great Australian batsman with short deliveries to his body. Despite this, he scored 396 runs with an average of 56.57, including one century and three half-centuries.
Technical similarities should not fuel early comparisons.
Although there are few images of Donald Bradman’s batting, he used a side-on stance and an unusual open grip. Vaibhav possesses a strong backlift and an open stance, allowing him to get into the ball’s line fast and reducing his chances of being trapped LBW.
Still, it is too early to compare Vaibhav to anyone because the teenager has only played two international series. This similarity will only add to his expectations.
